Reviews

Her attention to detail is amazing!

“We have been working with SDD services for over 10+  years for interior design of our homes, investment properties, styling and advertising our properties. She provides a unique service with a sense of style that is not short term but beautifully formed.”

— Mandy

She recognised the commercial sensitivity.

“SDD recognised the commercial sensitivity of doing more with less but also brought a sense of personalised style, positioning, structure and set up to produce a high quality finish - magazine standard.”

— Howard

It looks fabulous, amazing, different!

“It looks fabulous, amazing, different, enlightened, soothing, calming, creative and finally sensational. Couldn't be happier with our choices and knowing the best is yet to come. I am very excited with the transformation.”

— Robert

Restaurant Design

The former convenience store has been transformed into a small, funky space with dark blue walls, orange and lime-green accents, a constellation of filament light bulbs hanging from the ceiling with impressive long tables made from shiny slabs of reclaimed maple.
— Ottawa Citizen Newspaper

We worked with award winning chefs Ross and Simon the Fraser to design and project manage three of their restaurants;

  • Fraser Cafe

  • Fraser Cafe II

  • Table 40

The first two cafes required full conversion and new construction to accomodate 80 guests. Table 40 was a former convenience store we converted to an intimate dining space. The concept for Table 40 was a dark, inviting '1920s prohibition' inspired restaurant. We mixed this with communal seating on salvaged  custom Japanese-style pine tables from British Columbia. To keep the space warm and inviting, we created a "cloud" of soft lighting.

Property Development

Barwon Heads Residence

This project was featured in the Geelong Advertiser.

We have worked with this property developer for over seven years. We branded and developed the properties for an urban young audience who wanted a weekend getaway at the beach. We developed and fulfilled the design brief. A client who loves beach. We developed and fulfilled the design brief. A client who loves open plan living to entertain. They need a luxury kitchen and pantry.

Nothing to improve, it was fantastic.
— Madeleine, Airbnb client

Space for friends to stay is essential. The kids need a play room and storage for toys. Storage is also important for beach and sports equipment. And of course a well decked out media room for relaxing and outdoor living and entertaining spaces.

The colour selection for the interiors has grown stronger with each set of projects, and the client is increasingly emboldened to choose stronger, more impactful designs and styles. We added powerful saturated colours throughout to add personality to the most recent project, an Airbnb rental property.

Residential Design

South Yarra Residence

The brief was to bring people together with a level of  luxury befitting the penthouse apartment. The layout was maintained with new flooring and storage throughout. The custom Tasmanian hardwood shelving for was added in the bedroom and main living room, newly designed lighting paired with european inspired chevron flooring throughout. The  boxy kitchen was redesigned into a welcoming nook to enjoy the morning sun with the newspaper crossword. As part of our sustainability ethos, we updated the existing quality furnishings where possible and purchased new and vintage classics to blend with the client's current favourite pieces.

Residential Design

Richmond Residence

This ski obsessed bachelor in Richmond wanted to furnish and style his two storey duplex. The focus was on a rich, elegant yet simple colour palette and aesthetic. The classically inspired furnishings were paired with commissioned artwork from local and international artists to create a unique home filled with personality.

Residential Design

Malvern Residence

The brief was to design the new development and renovate the existing home to meet the needs of a growing young family. We introduced better space planning and specifications, to create more spaces for the family to come together. We also helped manage the family's desire to infuse the spaces with lots of colour and created a sophisticated and timeless colour palette.

Property Development

Barwon Heads

This Geelong/Barwon Heads property developer specialises in homes for urban families. The brief was to create the ideal weekend home with two bedroom and luxury open plan living. These homes were valued at an average of $1.5 million, so the design had to reflect the luxury getaway price tag.
